The Swedish alt-country sextet Winny Lee started out in 2004 and released the debut-CD "Open Your Book" in 2005. After two years of playing live and rehearsing new songs, 2007 opened up a new chapter in the book of Winny Lee. With new members and new material, Winny Lee headed for the woods in august to record the new album ”So Here We Are”. In a 1900th-century farm in the middle of the Swedish forests, 11 songs were recorded during just four days. The result is an album with presence and a rich, warm live sound.

“So Here We Are” was released by Background Noise on CD and for free digital download in January 2008. The album further evolves the band’s sound from the singer/songwriter-focused debut “Open Your Book” into a more solid alt-country pop. The dynamic line-up of the band is to a high extent reflected in the sound of the new album, however not compromising with the soulful energy of Martin Kullberg’s songwriting.

Winny Lee disbanded in 2011.
